Tabiano, the City of Breathing
After a first draft of the project (see Villa del Respiro ) carried out with the collaboration of Prof Claudio Donner, who died prematurely before the final drafting of the scientific protocol, in 2022 the Aps Arnia Association commissioned Sciterion (a CME provider specializing in the study and implementation of residential and distance learning CME courses to the medical profession) to carry out a feasibility study for the development of an innovative multidisciplinary Protocol validated by internationally renowned specialists, based on Tabiano Thermal Waters, together with targeted diet and phytotherapy, hot water physiotherapy, motivational counseling and regular use of appropriate medications.
Tabiano, known as the "city of breath," and its spa are already world famous for the treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases. The Protocol, translated into several languages, will be able to scientifically validate the results that can be obtained through the multidisciplinary approach for the treatment and prevention of widespread respiratory diseases such as COPD and emphysematous bronchitis, which are widespread especially in the elderly population.
The project therefore evolved during the onerous and challenging renovation work now almost completed, and after a careful international study that showed great potential for development, the ideal users to be housed in Tabiano were identified mainly in the self-sufficient elderly population and in particular the elderly with mild respiratory problems, with Senior Housing and Intergenerational Cohousing formulas , facilitating them economically with support from the Foundation.
